Happy day! The Angels Walk LA historic markers I had the privilege to research and write are up! Next time you are in East Hollywood, take the time to learn a little bit about the people and institutions who made the neighborhood great!
In THIS my latest for LAist, the centuries-long history behind some of Musso & Frank Grill’s strangest dishes. I could eat their jellied consommé all day!
The Angels Walk LA East Hollywood Guidebooks I wrote are finally here! Shortly to be distributed in a metro or community center near you. This was such an inspiring, intense project to work on, and I can’t wait for others to get to explore the wonders of this richly historic and significant area. Historic markers coming soon!
In THIS, my latest for HISTORY, how the decadence of Versailles spurred on the French Revolution. Perhaps the present day White House should take some notes. 😊
In THIS, my latest for The Hollywood Reporter, the hardest working ghosts in Hollywood!
In THIS, my latest for LAist, a brief history of yummy beach food purchased from horse drawn food carts. Featuring an interview with the lovely Katherine Spiers!
In THIS, my latest for Our Ventura Blvd, the colorful, thoughtful art of Greg Jenkins.
Hello friends! I am so pleased to introduce THIS, the trailer for my new podcast Underbelly LA, a TableCakes Productions production. Coming later this month, season one: ten episodes full of shade in the land of sunshine.
Ahhh it’s finally online! In THIS story for The Hollywood Reporter, I take a look at the madcap, mysterious life of the Beverly Hills heiress Dolly Green.
On THIS episode of ZOOM, I had such a lovely time talking the yucky, icky lives of the Kings and Queens of England with the fabulous Amy Nicholson. It was right royal fun!
This is such a special day for me. A few years ago the lovely Stephanie Riggio met me outside a Pasadena storage center with boxes of historic photos, letters and telegrams that once belonged to the effervescent Dolly Green, the mid-century Beverly Hill heiress, socialite and hedonistic mystery. This archive would take me down a rabbit-hole into Dolly’s enigma of a life- and I’d be blessed to talk with some of her wonderful friends and family members. Today, my story about her is in The Hollywood Reporter (a longer version will appear online soon). Cheers to you Dolly, wherever you are- I’ll never stop trying to figure you out.
